The campaign
SBC refused Granton’s 2022 application to build in this woodland on the Tweed SAC, citing tree loss and ecology after 509 community objections. Granton's permission in principle expired on 4 March 2024.
In 2024, instead of providing tree and ecology assessments and explaining how their proposals meet new stricter environmental policies, Granton made three "section 42" requests – asking for renewal based on a typo and saying a condition protecting the wider woodland should be reduced.
SBC refused to renew based on the typo on 9 Dec 2024. SBC refused to reduce protection of the wider woodland on 23 Feb 2026. But the third application (repeating both arguments in the same application) remains undecided. Why?
Now SBC's Planning Committee has decided all the issues, we ask planners to immediately refuse Granton's final application.
